Our Algorithm seeks to determine and plot the location the article is referring to, rather than the source of the news outlet. We use the GeoNames database to lookup locations and correlate these with a latitude and longitude. We offer a free user account and a paid option for a suite of interactive features. These features include traditional Newspaper-like games and brain teasers, including Sudoku, trivia, an idiom-guessing game and riddles. Further, the paid account allows a user to save their favorite map-areas, track their game statistics and ranking as well as join a group of other users. Our business model relies on a mixture of advertisements and paid subscriptions. We seek to minimize our ad footprint (ideally, no ads) and maximize the uninterrupted user experience.
